BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) – More job slots will be given to Novo Vizcayanos by the Department of Labor and Employment within the third quarter of this year.
Gerardo Nicolas, DOLE Nueva Vizcaya Filed Office Livelihood Projects Unit head, said P22 million has been allotted by their agency for more than 3,000 Novo Vizcayanos.
“We hope that we can start with the employment program by August this year with the necessary profiling, submission of requirements, and processing of the documents submitted by the beneficiaries,” he said.
Nicolas said the P22 million fund was requested by Representative Luisa Cuaresma for Nueva Vizcaya under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/ Displaced (TUPAD) workers.
He said, through the TUPAD Program, workers will be paid P450.00 a day for 15 days.
“The TUPAD workers will be rendering various light services such as declogging of canals and other community cleanliness works,” Nicolas said.
Earlier, the TUPAD Program benefited 2,765 vulnerable workers in the province for the second quarter. Nicolas said P19 million was allotted for the beneficiaries who performed the same services for 15 days. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
