MANILA, (PIA) — The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) kicked off its 2024 Yearend Commencement Exercises at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) Wednesday, with more than 9,000 graduates from the Sta. Mesa Campus participating.
The ceremonies will feature esteemed guest speakers from various sectors of government, business, and media addressing the graduates. Notable speakers include:
- Hon. Amenah F. Pangandaman, Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management
- Mr. Roderick M. Danao, Chairman and Senior Partner of PwC Philippines
- Hon. Cesar B. Chavez, Presidential Communications Secretary
- Hon. Sherwin “Win” T. Gatchalian, Senator of the Philippines
- Hon. Vicente “Ching” Veloso, Representative of Leyte’s 3rd District
- Ms. Rowena Salvacion, Broadcast Journalist at GMA Network
- Hon. Marquez “Mark” O. Go, Representative of Baguio’s Lone District
- Hon. Stella Luz A. Quimbo, Representative of Marikina’s 2nd District
- Hon. Lorna Regina “Loren” Legarda, Senator of the Philippines
During the ceremonies, Senator Gatchalian and Secretary Pangandaman will each be awarded honorary doctorate degrees in Public Administration.
Additionally, Mr. Danao, Secretary Chavez, Representative Veloso, Ms. Salvacion, Representative Go, Representative Quimbo, and Senator Legarda will be recognized as Tanglaw ng Bayan Awardees.
This prestigious award is PUP’s highest honor, given to individuals and alumni for their leadership and significant contributions in their fields.
