SIQUIJOR ,Siquijor (PIA) — The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in Region 7 recently conducted the “Hatod Pagpangalagad: Biyahe sa Paghatod sa mga Programa ug Serbisyo alang sa mga Pamilyang Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs)” in the six municipalities of the province on July 27.
The OWWA Hatod Pagpangalagad program aims to bring services directly to OFWs and their families, enhance accessibility, address concerns, promote awareness of OWWA programs, strengthen local partnerships, and foster community engagement.
Among the services they offered were social benefits, welfare assistance, assistance with education and training, and a reintegration program.
They also provided a variety of services that gave beneficiaries the opportunity to renew their OWWA membership, an introduction to the organization’s programs and services, and a lesson on financing for the growth of your business.
Siquijor provincial chief of staff and tourism officer- in-charge, Atty. Dale Louis Tudtud, highlighted the need to support OFWs and their families due to the uncertainty of the challenges they may face while working abroad.
“We believe in the support that needs to be given to the OFW and their families kay kahibalo gyud ta nga ang atong OFW wala ta kasiguro kung unsay mahitabo man gyud (because we know that we can never be sure of what might happen to our OFWs,)” Tudtud said.
“OFW sacrifices a lot and helps us with their efforts, brought in money from abroad doing it for their families and our island,” he added.
Sanggunian Bayan Member Belinda Inao thanked OWWA-7 for the services they delivered in the province.
“Dako kaayo gikatabang sa atong OFW. Dako kaayo mig pasalamat nga mianhi sila, mipadool sila dri sa atong mga katawhan sa pagpahibalo sa ilang programa kay sa tinouray wala gyud ni silay kalibotan intawon. Daghang salamat OWWA,” said Inao.
(This has been a great help to our OFWs. We are very thankful that they came to inform us about their programs because so the people here would be aware about it. Thank you very much, OWWA.) (CAG/PIA7 Siquijor)
