OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA) — Providing a venue for barangay activities and a safe haven during emergencies for Barangay Guimad, the Ozamiz City local government unit held an official blessing and turnover ceremony for the newly completed multimillion-peso multipurpose building for Barangay Guimad.
The project, initiated during the term of former Ozamiz City Mayor and now Rep. Ando Oaminal, was completed and handed over under the stewardship of Mayor Indy Oaminal, ensuring continuity and commitment to community development.

Mayor Indy Oaminal led the ceremony alongside Vice Mayor Bebe Neri and members of the Ozamiz City Council. Barangay Chairman Cristy Mae Perez Caño expressed profound gratitude to the Oaminal leadership, particularly highlighting the contributions of Gov. Henry S. Oaminal, Rep. Ando Oaminal, and Mayor Indy Oaminal.
“This multipurpose building is a testament to what we can achieve when our leaders work hand in hand for the benefit of the people. It will not only serve as a venue for barangay activities but also as a safe haven during emergencies and a symbol of progress for Barangay Guimad,” Caño said.
The project underscores the importance of a unified vision among government officials. Mayor Oaminal emphasized in his message that the structure represents the administration’s commitment to uplifting the lives of the residents. “This is more than just a building; it is a place where dreams are built, communities are strengthened, and lives are improved,” he said.

The multipurpose building will serve as a hub for various barangay activities, including livelihood training programs, disaster preparedness initiatives, and public consultations. Its completion has brought a sense of pride and optimism to the residents of Barangay Guimad, who now have access to a facility that will cater to their diverse needs.
Local officials see the building as a catalyst for community development. It provides a space for governance and civic activities while fostering a sense of unity among residents. “This is more than just infrastructure; this is about empowering our people,” Vice Mayor Bebe Neri added.
