DAVAO CITY (PIA) -– The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI extended around P1.4 million worth of assistance to various small micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the Davao region in 2024 through the Technical and Advisory Visit (TAV) Plus Program.
In a press release, DOLE-XI regional director Atty. Randolf C. Pensoy highlighted how the program helps MSMEs innovate and expand while ensuring compliance with labor laws to thrive in a competitive business environment.
“The TAV Plus Program demonstrates our dedication to not only ensuring compliance with labor laws and standards but also helping small enterprises thrive. By exceeding our targets, we have shown that collaborative efforts can create meaningful change for businesses and communities alike,” Pensoy explained.
TAV Plus program is part of the TAV program of the agency, which provides assistance to establishments with compliance gaps by referring to other programs of the agency DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) for livelihood assistance, enabling them to grow and enhance their operations.
The TAV Program, on the other hand, provides guidance to MSMEs in understanding and adhering to General Labor Standards (GLS) and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) regulations through labor inspections, safety and health investigations, and technical and advisory visits.

A total of 48 MSMEs, involving retail, food, agriculture, tailoring and production, printing, wholesale, and general services, benefited from the program through a P30,000 livelihood assistance under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP).
The beneficiaries comprised of 18 MSMEs from Davao City, 10 from Davao del Norte, six from Davao de Oro, five from Davao del Sur, five from Davao Oriental, and four from Davao Occidental.
The assistance provided has enabled MSMEs to invest in equipment, workforce development, and other operational needs, ensuring their continued growth and sustainability.
One of the beneficiaries, Roy Vincent Mirasol of RUI Cars & Coffee in Davao City, expressed his gratitude for the program, which greatly helped him boost his coffee shop business.
“I am truly grateful for the TAV Plus Program. The support we received has significantly boosted my coffee shop business, allowing us to grow and better serve our customers. Thank you, DOLE XI, for reaching out to us and for this incredible initiative.” he said. (ASO, PIA XI/DOLE XI)
