SYUDAD SANG ILOILO (PIA) – Isa ka bag-o nga tourist rest area (TRA) nga nagabalor sang P10 milyones ang natalana nga pagatukuron sa Sitio Baldan, Barangay Igpaho, sa Tubungan, Iloilo, kung sa diin ini ginakabig isa ka daku nga tikang padulong sa pagpasanyog sang tourism infrastructure sa probinsya.
Ginpangunahan ni Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Ma. Christina Garcia-Frasco upod sanday DOT-6 director Crisanta Marlene Rodriguez kag Tubungan Mayor Roquito Tacsagon ang ginhiwat nga groundbreaking ceremony kag pagperma sang memorandum of agreement (MOA) sang Agosto 23.
“The construction of this facility aims to give convenience to those traversing the mountainous, and scenic routes of Tubungan and its neighboring towns. We have seen the immense potential of Tubungan, thanks to its abundant natural resources,” pahayag ni Frasco sa isa ka media interview.
Ang pagatukuron nga rest area, suno sa DOT, may ara sang comfort room, shower room, kag isa ka pasalubong (souvenir) center agud mahatagan man sang kahigayunan ang mga residente nga mabaligya ang ila mga produkto.
Suno kay Frasco, may ara na sang 10 ka natukod nga TRAs sa pungsod, samtang 22 naman ang ginaplano pa nga pagatukuron
“This project symbolizes the essence of close collaboration with the national government,” pahayag ni Frasco.
Samtang, nagpasalamat naman si Tacsagon sa DOT bangud sa ginhatig sin inga proyekto, kung sad diin ini ang magapasanyog sang lokal nga turismo kag magapagpauswag sang pangabuhi sang mga pumuluyo.
“We are happy because Tubungan is the only one in the province to have a tourism rest area. This is a significant help for us. This will be the start of improving our infrastructure projects related to tourism to attract more tourists,” pahayag sang alkalde. (AAL/JNH/PIA Iloilo)
