P50M four-lane Aggungan Bridge in Buguey completed

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) – – The Department of Public Works and Highways-Cagayan 1st District Engineering Office (DPWH-CFDEO) has completed the construction of the four-lane Aggungan Bridge in Buguey, Cagayan.

District engineer Oscar G. Gumiran said motorists plying the Dugo-San Vicente Road in Barangay San Vicente can now have a more convenient traveling experience with the completion of the said bridge.

The bridge, amounting to ₱53.05 million, has a length of 24 meters and a 65-meter length of approaches on both sides.

The new Aggungan Bridge, according to Gumiran, replaces the old structure, which had become dilapidated due to age and strain brought about by overloaded vehicles.

Gumiran added that the scope of work covered the construction of a reinforced concrete deck girder on a pre-cast reinforced concrete pile foundation and Portland cement concrete pavement, while grouted riprap and stone masonry for slope protection and reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings for safety facilities were also installed.

The project was funded under the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA) and was completed within the first quarter of this year. (OTB/MDCT/PIA Cagayan)
