P9.6-M road upgrade ensures safer, smoother transport service in Iloilo City

ILOILO CITY (PIA) — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Iloilo City District Engineering Office has upgraded the portion of Molo-Mandurriao Road here to ensure a safer and more convenient transport experience for motorists.

According to the DPWH 6, the ₱9.6-million asphalt overlaying project specifically fronting Mandurriao Elementary School aims to enhance road safety, reduce maintenance costs, and extend the longevity of national roads.

DPWH 6 director Sanny Boy O. Oropel said the upgraded road is expected to provide long-term benefits, fostering a safer and more efficient transportation network in Iloilo City.

“This project ensures smoother, safer, and cost-efficient transportation of people, goods and services. With this improved road, we are offering a smoother and more convenient driving experience,”  Oropel said.

The upgraded road not only provides safety and convenience of the motorists but also better and easier access to the school and other salient establishments in the area, according to Oropel. (AAL/LAF/PIA6-Iloilo)
