BONTOC, Mountain Province (PIA) — The Philippine Army attributed the recent surrender of two members of the communist terrorist in the municipality of Paracelis to the cooperation among stakeholders.
1Lt. Rogelio S Recto Jr, Commanding Officer of the Alpha Company, 69th Infantry Battalion, 7 Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, in a radio interview said that they owe it to the cooperation between the community and uniformed personnel for the voluntary surrender of the two CTG members at Camp Acmor, Butigue in Paracelis.
The surrenderees are 44-year-old resident of Sitio Tuboy, Barangay Banawel, Natonin, Mountain Province and a 46-year-old, resident of Sitio Talaktak, Barangay Poblacion, Paracelis. They surrendered with their issued high-powered firearms and ammunitions.
Recto shared that the two seemed frightened when they surrendered.
“Yung dalawang smoke, tarot an tarot kaya Natarajan as nonseason Kasi ang sabia nil page pimento dawn silo ditto as campo naming bake torturing silo ng mega sandal. So nung pag punta nila dito nakita ko na kabado sila.” he said
The surrenderees expressed their gratitude to the government for giving them a chance to correct their past and to live life with real peace. They committed to convince their former colleagues to return to the folds of the law.
