LA TRINIDAD, Benguet (PIA) — The Department of Health in the Cordillera, Zuellig Family Organization (ZFF) Inc., and the provincial government of Benguet have signed a memorandum of understanding to further the implementation of the Universal Health Care (UHC) in the province.
DOH-CAR Director Ferdinand Benbenen, ZFF Chair of the Board Manuel Dayrit, and Gov. Melchor Diclas led the signing of the tripartite agreement for the implementation of the Bayang Malusog and Leadership Program.
The agreement aims to advance the implementation of the primary health care and UHC in Benguet by strengthening leadership and enhancing the local healthcare systems.
Through the partnership, services will be brought closer to communities ensuring better healthcare for everyone.
The pilot sites are the barangays in the Kibungan and Kapangan.
Dayrit emphasized the importance of partnerships and a whole-of-society approach to enhance the healthcare system of the province.
“As you know, Universal Health Care is really a complex undertaking. It means strengthening the primary care as well as referral system. It means working with other stakeholders including the private sector. It means working with non-government organizations like the ZFF to achieve this goal. So,this is really an effort of many entities, institutions and organizations,” Dayrit said.
Benbenen thanked the provincial government for fostering their commitment for the successful implementation of health programs.
Diclas expressed his gratitude for the partnership in support of quality and accessible healthcare services for all.
“Thanks for partnering with us in the Province of Benguet for the implementation of Universal Health Care. For this partnership and with our guidance, we will be able to give services to the remote areas for inclusive growth for everyone here in the province,” Diclas stated.
