Pag-IBIG Fund begins validating applicants for 4PH project in Davao City

DAVAO CITY (PIA) – The Pag-IBIG Fund in the region is currently validating the eligibility of applicants before availing of the ongoing Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) project located at People’s Ville in Calinan District, Davao City.

Out of the 500 identified potential applicants, 350 have been forwarded to the Pag-IBIG Fund head office for credit investigation.

Atty. Marie Antoniette Diaz, Pag-IBIG Fund senior vice president of the Member Services Operations Sector, reported this during the 24th episode of the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas on Tuesday, November 12.

The validation involved checking whether the applicant is a member of Pag-IBIG Fund and capable of paying the monthly amortization, as the units will be financed through a housing loan, Diaz said.

“There’s initially 350 (applicants’ documents) at the head office for the conduct of credit investigation. Kasi hindi naman pwedeng magpahiram tayo (because we cannot lend) without them being members of Pag-IBIG Fund,” she said.

For the applicants to acquire the housing units, they have to avail of the housing loan, Diaz further explained.

She said that the beneficiaries will receive interest subsidies and amortization support from the government, making the housing units affordable.

Diaz said that the local government of Davao and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) XI identified the beneficiaries, while Pag-IBIG Fund’s role is limited to conducting the validation process.

Hindi po kami ang nagsasabi kung sino dapat ang maging (We are not the ones who identify who should be the beneficiary), we only check if they are Pag-ibig member, they have the capacity to pay,” she explained.

If Pag-IBIG members are interested in enlisting in the program, Diaz advised them to coordinate with their LGUs or DHSUD XI.

Mylin Odron, Pag-IBIG Davao assistant department manager, said that their head office carries out the current processing of applicants and that the local office only facilitates the process by confirming the applications.

“Centralized pa ngayon ang 4PH na program. Head office ang processing natin ngayon, and dito sa amin, sa local, we just confirmed. Tinatawagan naming yung beneficiaries based on the list submitted to us by the LGU and the DHSUD,” she explained.

(The 4PH program is centralized at present. Our head office is the one processing the application, while here locally, we just confirm the application by calling the beneficiaries based on the list submitted to us by the LGU and the DHSUD.)

The People’s Ville in Davao City is one of the 23 approved projects under the 4PH program in the country funded by the Pag-IBIG Fund from July 2022 to September 2023. (clc/ASO/PIA XI)
