Pag-IBIG Fund brings services closer to Guimarasnons

ILOILO CITY (PIA) – – Residents of the province of Guimaras need not anymore travel by sea and go to Iloilo City for their transactions with Pag-IBIG Fund as the agency now brings its services closer to them.

On October 4, 2024, Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Marilene Acosta led the official inauguration of the Jordan Service Desk located at the 2nd Floor ACC Building, Brgy. San Miguel, Jordan.

Acosta said the establishment of the Jordan Service Desk is part of Pag-IBIG Fund’s continuing initiative to provide accessible services to Filipinos.

(“If the waves are high in seas and the weather is bad, the coast guard cancels the trips to ensure the safety of the passengers, that’s why effort and time to travel are wasted, and also wasted is the opportunity that you cannot immediately avail of the services of Pag-IBIG, especially during emergency. Now, it is not needed anymore to cross the sea, travel far, to get stuck in traffic and to spend additional fare because the service desk or branch office is here in your province”)

The Jordan Service Desk or Jordan Branch office had its soft opening in February this year, whih is under the Pag-Ibig Iloilo Molo Branch with Atty. Stanley Alayon, as the Molo branch head.

Since August this year, the Jordan service desk has served some 4,112 active members and more than 200 employers from the five municipalities of the province.

It is manned by three personnel who are ready to serve clients with their transactions, such as inquiries about the agency’s programs and services, membership registration, and submission of loan applications, among others. It is open from Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM.

According to Acosta with the help of the Molo and Mandurriao branches of Pag-Ibig Iloilo the Jordan Office has already disbursed P26.3 million short term loans and generated P19.5 million in member savings.

She added that Pag-IBIG Fund has been working hard to make sure that their services reach the people. Aside from the savings and short-term loans of Pag-IBIG Fund, she would like Guimarasnon to have access to their shelter financing programs to help them address their housing needs.

Governor Rahman JC Nava was elated and thankful to Pag-IBIG Fund for bringing their services closer to the people of Guimaras.

He said the putting up of a service desk office in Guimaras will bring a lot of convenience to them.

The inauguration was also attended by other Pag-IBIG officials including Board of Trustees member Atty. Cornelio Aldon, member services operations senior vice-president Atty. Marie Antoniette Diaz and Western Visayas area head Marivic Agot and vice- governor Atty. John Edward Gando. (AAL/LAF/PIA6-Iloilo)
