TACLOBAN CITY (PIA)—The Pag-IBIG Fund in Eastern Visayas has implemented a one-month moratorium on housing loan payments for members affected by natural disasters and man-made hazards.
This was announced by Alectys G. Bajarias, acting area head of the Pag-IBIG Fund for North Central and Eastern Visayas, during the 24th episode of Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas.
Bajarias introduced the one-month moratorium following the recent typhoons in the region to help alleviate the difficulties faced by affected members.
This is for those borrowers whose residence or work is in areas declared under a state of calamity. We hope that this will allow our members to prioritize their needs as they recover from the effects of the typhoon,” she said.
According to Bajarias, the interest rate and other housing loan terms remain unchanged. Qualified members are those with updated payments in the month before a state of calamity is declared.
Bajarias added that there will be no additional charges. The moratorium will take effect on the next due date following the approval of the application.
“Hangad po namin ang makapaglingkod nang may tapat na serbisyo, mula sa puso para sa isang Pag-IBIG na ramdam ng lahat. Ano man po ang sitwasyon ninyo, tandaan po ninyo, may Pag-IBIG para sa inyo,” she said.
[We aim to serve with sincere service, from the heart, for a kind of love (Pag-IBIG) that everyone can feel. Whatever your situation, always remember, there is love (Pag-IBIG) for you.]
The Kapihan also discussed the fund’s performance from January to September 2024 including its various programs and services.
Bajarias encouraged members to visit the nearest Pag-IBIG Fund office to access additional services or submit applications online. (AAC/JKPA, PIA Leyte)
