ILOILO CITY (PIA) – The Pag-IBIG Fund has forged a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with different stakeholders in Guimaras province for the registration of their informal employees, such as those in job order and contract-of-service, as members of the Home Mutual Development Fund.
The agency partnered with the Guimaras provincial government, Local Government Unit of Jordan, Guimaras, Nueva Valencia LGU, Guimaras Specialist Medical Center, Inc. (GSMCI), and the Guimaras State University (GSU) as it held the ceremonial signing on October 4, 2024 at Brgy. San Miguel in Jordan, Guimaras.
The deal aims to allow the stakeholders’ informal employees enjoy the benefits and services that the government providence fund agency offers, like its multipurpose loans and housing loans, among others.
The MOA was signed by Pag-IBIG Fund chief executive officer Marilene C. Acosta, together with Guimaras Governor JC Rahman Nava, Nueva Valencia Mayor Paul Vincent De La Cruz, GSMCI chief of hospital Dr. Tomas Saiton Jr., and GSU administrator Dr. Lilian Diana Parreno.
Gov. Nava, in his message, expressed gratitude to the Pag-IBIG Fund for its initiative to involve those from informal employees’ sector to avail the benefits and packages that the agency offers through the agreement.
“We are really thankful for Pag-IBIG. We are thankful that not only the formal sectors can avail the Pag-IBIG benefits and packages, but as well making it available to a lot more of our informal employees. So, this is a big welcome from our personnel who belong to those groups,” Nava said.
Dr. Saiton also stated that the agreement would benefit their hospital employees, as they are now covered by the services of Pag-IBIG Fund, especially during emergency situations.
Meanwhile, Pag-IBIG Fund Molo Branch head Atty. Stanley F. Alayon said that the event was a testament of “genuine partnership” between the agency and its stakeholders in Guimaras in providing better benefits and services to their constituents.
“Making this agreement shows the care and concerns that our partners have for their employees, their needs, welfare and future,” Alayon stressed. (JNH/PIA Iloilo)
