DAGUPAN CITY (PIA) — Members who are residing and working in Dagupan City can now avail the Pag-IBIG Fund’s calamity loan program following the city government’s declaration of a state of calamity due to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
Jonah Grace Oxiles, the sales and marketing division head of Pag-IBIG Fund Dagupan Branch, stated that qualified members can avail the Pag-IBIG’s short-term loan program, which allows them to borrow up to 80 percent of their total Pag-IBIG Regular Savings, including their monthly contributions, employer contributions, and accumulated dividends.
“The Pag-IBIG Calamity Loan, which carries the lowest interest rate in the market at 5.95 percent per annum, aims to provide members with immediate financial aid,” Oxiles told the Philippine Information Agency (PIA)-Pangasinan on Monday.
She mentioned that residents and workers in Dagupan City may avail and apply for the calamity loan program until Jan. 23, 2025.
“Members may choose to repay their loans over two years (24 months) or three years (36 months), with the initial payment for the approved loan due in the third month after the loan release,” Oxiles said.
She added that if a member has an outstanding Multi-Purpose or Calamity Loan, the amount they can receive will be the difference between 80 percent of their total Pag-IBIG Regular Savings and the outstanding balance of their existing loan.
Meanwhile, Oxiles reminded members affected by calamities in Mangatarem and Calasiao to avail the program before it ends on Nov. 3, 2024, and Dec. 5, 2024, respectively.
Oxiles said members may apply for calamity loans through the Virtual Pag-IBIG app or by visiting the Pag-IBIG branch in Dagupan City, located on the second floor of BHF Mall in Barangay Mayombo.
She also noted that the Pag-IBIG Fund Dagupan Branch is open from Monday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m..
Oxiles said members may also call the Pag-IBIG Fund Dagupan Branch at (075) 522-4467 if they have any queries about the calamity loan programs. (MJTAB/EMSA/PIA Pangasinan)
