Pagadian City women celebrates 2023 National Women’s Month

Pagadian City, 10 Mar (PIA) – Hundreds of women from different sectors of society gathered here recently at the Plaza Luz Covered Court to celebrate the 2023 National Women’s Month with the support of the City Government of Pagadian.

Mayor Co reiterated his commitment to providing a safe and inclusive environment for women and children in the city during the celebration.

One of the highlights of the event was the presence of goodwill ambassador Deniece Cornejo as the guest speaker. Cornejo delivered an inspiring message of hope and empowerment to the women in attendance. She stressed the importance of working together toward gender equality and standing up for their rights.

“Sana hindi lang ito selebrasyon ng event, hindi lang ito selebrasyon na kung saan napakaganda ng ating mga damit, pero ito ay selebrasyon ng pagpapahalaga sa ating sarili at pagtatransform bilang maging isang empowered woman,”Cornejo said.

(Hopefully, this is not just a celebration of the event, not just a celebration where we wear beautiful clothes, but a celebration of valuing ourselves and transforming into an empowered woman.)

The event’s new recurring theme from 2023 to 2028, “WE for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society”, and the hashtags #WecanbeEquALL and #2023WomensMonth, were used to emphasize the importance of promoting gender equality in society.

As the celebration came to an end, the women left with a renewed sense of empowerment and a determination to fight for their rights. The event is just one of many initiatives the City Government of Pagadian is undertaking to promote gender equality and create a more inclusive society.
