PAGASA: Hanging ‘Amihan’ to bring rains over Bicol

Naga City (PIA) – Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced over the Bicol region and Northern Samar due to northeast monsoon or Hanging Amihan, the Souther Luzon Pagasa Regional Services Division reported, Monday.

Meanwhile, cloudy skies with rains is expected over Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

Moderate to strong winds coming from the Northeast will prevail. This will cause  moderate to rough seas, thereby also advisng all the MDRRMOs and Chief Executives to look after their fisherfolks and advise them not to venture in the open sea if it is still unsafe.

On the other hand, the trough of Low Pressure Area continues to bring rains in the areas of Visayas and Mindanao.

This is based on the latest local weather forecast on Monday at 5 AM which will be valid until 5 AM of January 10.

The public and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices concerned are advised to monitor the weather condition.

Before 12Noon today, the Camarines Sur Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) through the Environment, Disaster Management and Emergency Response Office (EDMERO) issued a Heavy Rainfall Warning advisory, advising every Camarinenses, particularly those living in flood-prone areas to keep watch and take heed of the MDRRMO’s issuances.

The advisory stated that Camarines Sur will experience light to moderate with occasional heavy rains and will  affect most part of the province and which may continue for 2 to 3 hours. The public and the disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take appropriate actions, monitor the weather condition and watch for the next advisory to be issued at 02:00 PM today.
