CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) — The road to the Babe Ruth World Series 2025 heats up as teams from across the country battle it out for national glory and a coveted slot on the international stage.
In a highly anticipated second game qualifier, the province of Palawan is set to face off against National Capital Region (NCR) South as part of the Babe Ruth League Philippines (BRLP) tournament. In a press conference, BRLP National Commissioner Ken Landicho says the competition is more than just a game, providing young Filipino athletes with a platform to showcase their talent and sportsmanship on the world stage.
“This tournament is more than just about winning, it’s about giving young Filipino athletes the opportunity to grow, represent their communities with pride and showcase their potential on an international stage,” said Landicho.
He added that the league’s not just building players, but also building future leaders through sports.

Palawan, known for its natural beauty and now growing youth sports programs, is seen as a strong contender in the tournament. Their matchup against NCR South– a powerhouse in the Metro Manila baseball circuit is expected to draw attention from baseball enthusiasts and scouts alike.
