CALAMBA CITY (PIA) – The provincial government has made available its nutrient-filled bun Pan de Laguna to the general population in its bid to provide proper nutrition to every Lagunense.
Teresita Ramos, of the Provincial Nutrition Action Office (PNAO), said local governments can request fortified buns for their feeding programs particularly in celebrations such as the Nutrition Month.
The Pan de Laguna (or Pan-angat Nutrisyon ng Laguna), is a locally-made bun fortified with micronutrients such as zinc, iron, iodine, calcium, vitamin A, and folic acid.
It was launched last year as Laguna’s nutrition program for pregnant women, lactating mothers and undernourished children.
The provincial government has also intensified its milk donation drive by encouraging LGUs to avail of its human milk bank which can be used by infants 0-2 months old.
The PNAO-Laguna said it will continue to support partner agencies in planning and implementing their nutrition programs. This year’s Nutrition Month theme is dubbed “Healthy Diet, Gawing Affordable for All.” (AM/PIA-4A)
