TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) – – Lawyers of the Public Attorney’s Office in Region 2 are competent enough to deliver the best service to their clients, said Regional Public Attorney Jefferson T. Caro.
He said the majority of lawyers of PAO Region 2 are from prestigious law schools who exhibit excellent service as defendants.
“We have 102 lawyers now. They are young and brilliant lawyers from prestigious law schools ready to serve our clientele. I am proud to say that we have many acquittances and terminated cases now, especially on drug cases. We are winning our cases,” Caro said during the latest episode of Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas.
He also said their mandate is to serve as lawyers for indigent individuals for free.
Caro also said anyone with a net monthly income of not more than P24,000 from highly urbanized cities, not more than P22,000 from other cities, and not more than P20,000 from municipalities can avail of PAO services.
“We also serve even those who are gainfully employed as long as their income is not above the threshold that the law has set for our clients,” he added.
He said the PAO lawyers represent their clients in criminal and civil cases, and likewise on agrarian reform cases. (OTB/PIA Region 2)
