CABARROGUIS, Quirino — To help parolees and probationers rebuild their lives and achieve economic self-sufficiency, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in partnership with the Quirino Parole and Probation Office (QPPO) recently provided livelihood assistance worth P260,436 under the DOLE- Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) to 12 parolees and probationers in the province.
According to DOLE Quirino Officer-in-Charge Froctoso C. Agustin, the livelihood aid package includes livelihood starter kits and a two-day training aimed at enhancing the beneficiaries’ entrepreneurial capabilities.
Agustin highlighted the value of inter-agency collaboration in delivering effective government programs as he reminded the recipients of the crucial role that they play in national development.
“This support has been entrusted to you. Start small, earn trust, and prove your capability to manage these resources. If you succeed, the government will continue to support the growth of your livelihood ventures,” Agustin said.
The training sessions covered topics such as marketing and entrepreneurship, occupational safety and health, values formation, and basic bookkeeping.
Ma. Cristina C. Vibar, regional officer-in-charge of the Department of Justice-Parole and Probation Administration, stressed the importance of accountability and long-term commitment in utilizing the assistance provided.
“This is not just a handout, it’s a support system from the government, and we hope you will take full responsibility for this chance at transformation,” Vibar said. (TCB/PIA-2, QUIRINO)
