Pasig City receives mobile lab through First Lady’s ‘LAB for All’ program

QUEZON CITY (PIA) – – The local government of Pasig City received a mobile laboratory on Thursday, October 3, as part of the “Libreng Laboratoryo, Konsulta at Gamot Para sa Lahat” (LAB for ALL) program, an initiative led by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos aimed at enhancing healthcare accessibility.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Marcos oversaw the turnover of the mobile laboratory at Rizal High School during the LAB for ALL caravan. The mobile laboratory is designed to provide free medical services to communities in need.

In addition to Pasig, mobile laboratories were also delivered to Sta. Catalina in Ilocos Sur and Tacloban City.

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto expressed his gratitude for the initiative, noting the excitement it generated among Pasigueños.

“When we heard that there would be a LAB for All here in Pasig under the office of our First Lady, we were truly delighted and excited. I know I speak for all Pasigueños who will benefit from this program,” Sotto said.

Sotto also highlighted the significance of the event, noting that it was the first time the President personally attended a LAB for ALL caravan.

“We are not only grateful for the assistance but also the presence of our beloved President and First Lady,” he added.

The LAB for ALL program offers a variety of services, including free consultations, medications, and basic laboratory tests, all conducted through Bagong Pilipinas Mobile Clinics. According to the Presidential Communications Office, the caravan has reached 29 locations nationwide since its inception in May 2023.

The national government has procured additional Bagong Pilipinas Mobile Clinics, with plans to deploy them across provinces and cities in the National Capital Region (NCR) to better serve patients in remote and underserved areas. The initiative underscores the administration’s commitment to improving healthcare access throughout the country. (JEG/PIA-NCR)
