‘Pasko sa Kapitolyo’ back to bring Christmas cheer in La Union

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – The provincial government of La Union opened its 2023 Pasko sa Kapitolyo (PSK) with the theme: “Ang Hiwaga ng Pasko, Dadalhin Namin Sa Inyo!” at the Capitol Grounds in San Fernando City, La Union on December 1.

Stilt walkers are some of the many attractions featured during the opening program of the 2023 Paskuhan sa Kapitolyo at the La Union Provincial Capitol Grounds on December 1.

The activity included a ribbon-cutting and village lighting countdown to mark the official start of the 2023 PSK in the province.

A parade of marching band, mascots, stilt walkers, and jugglers also greeted viewers of the PSK opening program as well as a ProbinSAYAWAN with the Don Pedring Orchestra.

Viewers were also treated to the sight of celebrities who visited the province for the opening festivities, with a band performance fittingly ending the opening program of the 2023 PSK.

In her Christmas message, Governor Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David said that the yearly PSK is meant to impart the true essence of Christmas which is the sharing of love to every person in the province.

“Ang tunay na hiwaga ng Kapaskuhan dito sa La Union ay ang ating sama-samang pagpaparamdam ng pagmamahal sa bawat isang kaprobinsyaan,” Ortega-David said.

The PSK shall run for the whole month of December, to include activities dedicated to children, teenagers, civil society organizations, LGBTQIA+, as well as pet owners and their pets.

The culmination of the month-long festivities shall be on December 30, with a PSK closing ceremony to be held at the provincial government. (JCR/AMB/CCMT, PIA La Union)
