Paved FMR supports local agriculture in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan

MANILA — The previously unpaved road posed challenges in the mobility of the residents and motorists, especially farmers, in transporting their products to the market. The road concreting project of DPWH Palawan 3rd DEO from Sitio Aremparo to Sitio Parena has facilitated better access to the agricultural community of Brgy. Kamuning in the City of Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

In a report by Palawan 3rd District Engineer Amelia B. Fajardo to DPWH MIMAROPA Regional Director Gerald A. Pacanan, CESO III, the project is a 0.8415-km road that is 9.10 m wide, complete with earthworks, subbase and base course, surface course, drainage and slope protection structures, and miscellaneous structures.

The road project enhances the community’s agricultural productivity and social connectivity by ensuring the timely delivery of fresh and high-quality produce to the market sourced directly from farmers. It simplifies the acquisition of essential crop inputs, boosting farming efficiency. It also provides residents with safe and dependable roads, improving daily mobility. Said project helps facilitate economic growth by granting investors access to previously unreachable areas, unlocking new development opportunities.
