PBBM highlights ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ in PMA graduation

BAGUIO CITY (PIA) — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. highlighted the “Bagong Pilipinas” in his message during the commencement exercises of the Philippine Military  Academy(PMA)  “Bagong SINAG” Class of 2024  at Fort del Pilar, Baguio City on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

“Akmang-akma ang pangalan ng inyong Bagong Sinag sa isinusulong nating adhikain ngayon na Bagong Pilipinas. Both are excellent battle cries,”  the President  told the 278-strong graduating cadets  who compose the “Bagong SINAG” or  “Bagong Henerasyong Gagampanan ang Tama: Serbisyo, Integridad, at Nasyonalismo ang Aming Gabay.”

The President said Bagong Pilipinas does not only mean a great nation yet to come but “we also refer to a great nation that we are actively building, one day at a time.”

The President said a ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ is now being slowly born, but  it is being faced with various threats. However, he emphasized that the government will focus more on the priorities that truly matter for the nation and its people.
“Bagong Pilipinas is now being slowly born. This a time of birth pains— sadly, of opportunism, blatant attempts of destabilization, and last-ditch to cling to the rapidly disappearing past. But we must be resolute. We must hold on, we cannot turn back.
