MANILA, (PIA) — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ushered in the holiday season on Sunday with a star-studded cultural event at Malacañang, featuring performances by two of the Philippines’ most renowned national artists.
The “Puso ng Pasko” (Heart of Christmas) showcase brought together National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab and National Artist for Dance Alice Reyes, highlighting the rich artistic heritage of the Philippines during the traditional start of the Christmas season.
The event, hosted by the Office of the President, symbolized a return to pre-pandemic holiday celebrations and showcased the country’s cultural talents at the seat of government.
Cayabyab, widely considered the “Maestro of Filipino Music,” and Reyes, a pioneering figure in Philippine contemporary dance, provided a uniquely Filipino artistic interpretation of the Christmas spirit.
The performance underscores the Marcos administration’s commitment to promoting and preserving Philippine arts and cultural traditions during the holiday season. (JVD/PIA-NCR)
