PBBM refutes alleged loophole in EO 74, reiterates POGO ban in all forms

MANILA — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday refuted the supposed loophole in Executive Order 74, which bans Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).

In a media interview following the Seatrade Cruise Asia 2024 Welcome Reception, President Marcos pointed out that POGOs are absolutely banned and cannot operate under similar licenses.

“There’s just no way…because it’s the nature of the operation that we are banning. It’s not because it’s under PAGCOR or not. Basta’t sinabing… basta’t POGO ‘yan, ganyan ang lisensya nila, it’s banned,” President Marcos stressed.

President Marcos signed EO 74 on Nov. 5 which formalized his strong remarks in his third State of the Nation Address, banning all Philippine offshore gaming and internet gaming licenses that encompass illegal offshore gaming operations, license applications, license renewals, and cessation of operations in the country.
