LUCENA CITY, Quezon (PIA) – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is set to lead the first-ever distribution of Certificates of Condonation and Release of Mortgage (COCROM) in the Calabarzon region to over 4,300 agrarian reform beneficiaries in Quezon on Friday, November 29.
According to the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Calabarzon, a total of 11,497 certificates, valued at Php 441.71 million, will be distributed to agrarian reform beneficiaries across various towns in Quezon province.
COCROM, a program of the DAR aimed at condoning farmers’ debts, seeks to boost agricultural productivity by alleviating financial burdens and freeing farmers from mortgage obligations.
The distribution will also include 15 electronic titles (E-Titles) in the Municipality of Buenavista, Quezon, under the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) Project.
In an official statement, DAR Calabarzon emphasized that the distribution aligns with President Marcos Jr.’s commitment to comprehensive agrarian reform, a priority he highlighted in his 2022 State of the Nation Address.
Under Republic Act No. 11953, also known as the New Emancipation Act, the distribution of COCROMs is expected to provide significant financial relief, motivate farmers, and enhance national food security. (PB-PIA4A/DAR Calabarzon)
