PBBM to lead Office of the President’s Family Week on Dec 2-3

MANILA, (PIA) — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will lead the Office of the President’s (OP) annual celebration of “Family Week” from December 2 to 3, highlighting various programs and services for its personnel, according to an announcement from Malacañang on Friday.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will take the lead in this year’s ‘Family Week’ celebration, which brings together hundreds of employees from the Office of the President (OP), other OP agencies, and their family members,” Communications Secretary Cheloy Garafil said.

The President himself will address and engage with the OP family at the Kalayaan grounds in Malacañang this weekend, on December 2 to 3, 2023,” Garafil added.

During the two-day Family Week celebration, OP personnel will have access to LAB 4 All, Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair, and Kadiwa ng Pangulo, all of which are key projects championed by Marcos and First Lady Liza Marcos.

LAB 4 All initiative offers basic laboratory services such as CBC, blood chemistry, urinalysis, ECG, and ultrasound, as well as specialized tests for cervical cancer and renal disease screening. Additionally, it provides vaccinations, dental, and optical services.

The Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) delivers essential and reliable government services from various government agencies. Services offered during the fair include passport applications, issuance of birth certificates, driver’s licenses, clearances from the Philippine National Police and the National Bureau of Investigation, benefit claims from the Social Security System and Government Service Insurance System, Philippine Health Insurance Inc. coverage, and free legal advice from Public Assistance Office lawyers.

Meanwhile, Kadiwa ng Pangulo aims to promote a direct marketing platform created by the Department of Agriculture (DA) to provide consumers with access to quality and safe food items while ensuring that farm producers have a ready market.

The Kadiwa booth will showcase fresh and affordable produce straight from the farms to Malacañang’s doorstep. These stores will also be open to the surrounding community,” Garafil said, highlighting Marcos’ recognition of the importance of caring for the well-being of both the nuclear and extended OP Family.

Moreover, a Bagong Pilipinas bus will be present to raise awareness about the Marcos administration’s governance branding before its official launch later this month.

The PCO chief further announced that a free concert featuring renowned artist Bamboo will take place along Mendiola, starting at 6 p.m. on December 2, to extend the festivities to the general public.

The OP Family Week is an annual event dedicated to fostering a sense of community and family among its employees. Traditionally held in the last week of September, in line with the establishment of Family Week by former president Fidel V. Ramos in 1992, this year’s celebration was moved to December to ensure maximum employee participation, service delivery, and to evoke the spirit of generosity and community that the Christmas season brings, said Garafil. (PIA-NCR)
