SILANG, Cavite (PIA) — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is expected to lead the 44th Philippine National Police Academy’s (PNPA) Commencement Exercises at Camp General Mariano Castañeda in Silang Cavite on Friday, March 10.
According to PNPA Public Information Officer Police Lieutenant Colonel Louie Gonzaga, about 208 cadets of the Masidtalak Class of 2023 will graduate from the PNPA. Of this number, 186 will join the Philippine National Police (PNP), 11 chose to serve the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and another 11 will join the Bureau of Jail Management (BJMP).
President Marcos will be joined by chiefs of the PNP, BFP, and BJMP, some Cabinet members, and local government officials. This will be his first time to attend the PNPA’s graduation rites as the country’s commander-in-chief.
This year’s graduating PNPA Masidtalak Class of 2023 is led by class valedictorian Police Cadet Francis D. Geneta, a native of Naujan, Oriental Mindoro. He will also receive the Presidential Kampilan and the Chief, PNP Kampilan as the top cadet to join the PNP.
Police Cadet John Rafael S. Desiderio from Cubao, Quezon City who ranked second will recieve the Vice Presidential Kampilan Award. He is also this year’s recipient of Best in Police Administration and Best Thesis awards.
Meanwhile, Jail Cadet Mary Louise M. Moyano, a native of Gumaca in Quezon province finished third in the final order of merit. Moyano who will join the BJMP, will receive the Secretary of Interior and Local Government (SILG) Kampilan Award and the BJMP Kampilan Award. She will also be the recipient of the Servant Leadership Kampilan Award.
Other cadets in the Top 10 are Fire Cadet Eden Jhun Santos (Rank 4, Chief BFP Kampilan); Police Cadet Clarie Gean L Pambid (Rank 5); Police Cadet Gezelle Neuda Sadian (Rank 6); Fire Cadet Gillan Torlao (Rank 7); Police Cadet Jefferson S Mamauag (Rank 8 ); Police Cadet Patrick John Alabado (Rank 9); and Police Cadet Kimberly Cruz (Rank 10).
PNPA Director Police Major Eric Noble earlier lauded the Masidtalak Class of 2023 and the Top 10 cadets, emphasizing that their hardships and achievements are a testament that they are ready to become future leaders of the PNPA and the country.
