MANILA — While armed conflict left a mark in Maguindanao, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. assured its people of the government’s commitment to preserve stability in the province.
In his speech during the distribution of financial assistance to farmers and fisherfolk affected by the El Niño phenomenon in Maguindanao del Sur, President Marcos said the government is all out in its drive to overcome security challenges and ensure unhampered commerce in Maguindanao.
“Tinitiyak ko sa inyo na ang kaligtasan ng ating mga mamamayan ay nananatiling prayoridad ng aking administrasyon,” President Marcos said.
He was confident that a genuine, long-lasting peace and unity in Mindanao will be achieved through the collaborative and relentless efforts of the government and the people against armed conflict. “Kung kaya hinihimok ko ang lahat na patuloy na magkaisa at samantalahin ang pagkakataong ito upang makipagtulungan sa ating gobyerno,” the President added.
President Marcos also directed all government agencies, including local government units (LGUs) to ensure that various government assistance and services reach the needy residents.
“Layunin nating magbigay ng mabilis at komprehensibong tulong upang mabilis na makaahon sa mga pagsubok at hindi na muling masadlak sa kaguluhan ang lugar na ito,” President Marcos said.
There are more challenges to be confronted, but through the efforts, cooperation and concern of all Filipinos, they will all be addressed, President Marcos said. “Sa ating pagkakaisa, makakamit natin ang mas magandang kinabukasan para sa Maguindanao del Sur, sa buong rehiyon ng BARMM, at sa ating inaantay na Bagong Pilipinas,” the President stressed.
President Marcos led the distribution of Presidential Assistance to farmers, fisherfolk, and families in Maguindanao del Sur. At least PhP10,000 in financial assistance was distributed to each of the beneficiaries from Maguindanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) also extended PhP10,000 each to 10,000 beneficiaries. (PND)
