PBBM wants to spread 4Ps jobs fair nationwide

TAGUM CITY, Davao del Norte (PIA) — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Feb 15 vowed to spread across the country the conduct of jobs fair for the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), having noted its significance in generating jobs and in maximizing job opportunities.

Speaking during the 4Ps jobs fair held at the Atrium of the Tagum City Hall in the City of Tagum in Davao del Norte,  President Marcos revealed that the 1,900 jobs fairs rolled out last year generated 66,000 hired on-the-spot.

He also noted that more than 1,000 were also hired on the spot during the launching early this year of the Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas para sa 4Ps during which 9,000  applied.

“Patunay na napakagaling ng mga Pilipino. Kailangan lang ng pagkakataon na katulad  ng  job fair na ito,” he said.

Kaya naman gagawin ko po lahat para ang programa na ito ay magkalat sa buong bansa. Hangad ko po ang inyong tagumpay.  Kakambal  nito ay ang aking panawagan na sana ay mapalawig pa ninyo ang mga pagkakataon at oportunidad sa inyong harapan,” he said.

(That is why I will do everything needed so our programs will spread nationwide. Your triumph is my aspiration, this follows my call that you will make use the opportunities in front of you.

As of 2:00 p.m. on Feb 15,  the  Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced that  18 were hired-on-the-spot during the City of Tagum 4Ps jobs fair, which generated more than 3,00 4Ps  job-seeker beneficiaries.

Information from DOLE  Davao del Norte revealed a total of 1,327 job vacancies were made available on the day of the 4Ps jobs fair from 25 participating establishments.

Meanwhile, President Marcos believed that each 4Ps  beneficiary has the capacity and the determination to make each livelihood more productive,  a trait that, he said, enlivens the essence of being a renewed Filipino.

“Isabuhay natin ang  pagiging bagong Pilipino. Ang Pilipinong  disiplinado, masipag magalang at may malasakit. Ito ang magdadala sa atin tungo sa  bagong pilipinas na ating pinapangarap.”

(Let us put into practice becoming new Filipinos. A Filipino who is disciplined, hardworking, respectful, and compassionate. This will bring us to the new Philippines which we envisioned.)

On the other hand,  City of Tagum Mayor Rey T. Uy expressed his views on the staging of Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas para sa 4Ps Jobs Fair in Tagum City with the presence of President Marcos.

“This event is not only a jobs fair.  This marks the continuous efforts of our national government led by his excellency, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. together with our city government, in ensuring that we provide endless  opportunities for our people to thrive,” Uy said

“Today’s jobs fair reflects our collective pursuit to build a resilient, inclusive and progressive community. This is more than just offering employment. This is about empowering our communities, uplifting our families, and strengthening our local economy,” he added.

That 4Ps jobs fair in Tagum City featured the Kadiwa ng Pangulo as a major side event that displayed the local produce of small-scale farming associations.  There was also a one-stop shop of services from various national line agencies.   (JMDA, PIA XI)
