PDEA-9 logs 10 reports via ‘Isumbong Mo sa PDEA’ hotline in 2024

PAGADIAN CITY (PIA) – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-9 urged the public to report individuals involved in illegal drug use and trade, assuring that all information will be kept confidential.

“Hindi natin hinihingi ang complete information ng concerned citizen. Ang kailangan lang natin ay ang complete detail nung nireport,” said PDEA-9 information officer Darmalyn Jumlail in an interview with the Philippine Information Agency. (We don’t require citizens to provide personal details, only the complete information regarding the reported incident.)

Follow the Isumbong mo PDEA Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/IsumbongMoSaPDEA. Report individuals involved in illegal drug use and trade.

“Isumbong Mo sa PDEA” is a platform operating via Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/IsumbongMoSaPDEA where citizens can directly message.

Once a report is submitted to the PDEA National Headquarters, it will then be forwarded to the corresponding regional office. If the report pertains to Region 9, it will be forwarded to the regional office for further validation.

Concerned citizens may also report drug activities and drug personalities through the Isumbong mo sa PDEA hotline numbers 0995-345-7020 and 0931-027-8212.

PDEA-9 has noted the positive impact of this platform, revealing previously unknown drug personalities that were not present in the agency’s database but were active in local communities.

Jumlail said that upon receiving reports from the national office, the region follows the standard procedure before launching anti-drug operations. This includes surveillance to validate the report, which may vary in duration depending on the target—ranging from weeks to months.

Once validated and confirmed, the agency proceeds with entrapment operations. If the report is not verified, there is no reason to conduct an anti-drug operation.

“Malaking bagay yung report na ibibigay niyo sa amin para makatulong tayo sa pagsugpo sa illegal na droga sa ating komunidad,” Jumlail said. (The report you provide to us is a big help in our efforts to combat illegal drugs in our community.)

In 2024, PDEA-9 received a total of 10 reports through the platform. Two of these led to successful operations, one in Zamboanga Sibugay and another in Zamboanga del Norte, resulting in the apprehension of individuals involved in the illegal drug trade. (EDT/CCP/PIA9)
