Peñablanca inaugurates new super health center

PEÑABLANCA, Cagayan (PIA) – The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Peñablanca, Cagayan, inaugurated its newly established Super Health Center, a state-of-the-art facility that aims to enhance primary healthcare services in the town.

Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, chair of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, led the inauguration ceremony, joined by Vice Mayor Marilyn J. Taguinod and Department of Health representative Angelica Obordo.

The center was built through a collaborative effort of the LGU and the DOH, designed to offer essential medical services to the community, especially beneficial for residents in remote and underserved areas.

“This Super Health Center is not just a building but a promise. A promise of better health, accessible care, and hope for every child, elder, and member of our beloved community,” Vice Mayor Taguinod said.

The Peñablanca Super Health Center is the second Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Service (BUCAS) center in Cagayan, following the Sta. Praxedes BUCAS center.

The project is part of a larger initiative to establish 11 centers across the province. The centers will provide a range of primary health services, including outpatient consultations, laboratory tests, minor surgeries, and emergency care, significantly improving access to healthcare for residents.

“This inauguration marks a pivotal moment in Peñablanca’s healthcare development, underscoring the LGU’s commitment to ensuring quality medical care for all,” Taguinod added. (OTB/GVB/PIA Cagayan)
