CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA) — Recognizing the invaluable contributions of its partners and stakeholders in boosting employment facilitation, the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Cagayan de Oro City held its 5th Parangal at Pasasalamat on December 18.
In a message read by City Administrator Roy Raagas, Mayor Rolando Uy said, “We remain committed to creating an environment where job seekers are empowered with the opportunities they need to thrive, not only for themselves but also for the prosperity of their families and our entire city.”

Raagas also expressed his gratitude to the diverse group of stakeholders present. “Taliwala sa challenges sa tagsa-tagsa nato ka mga areas of primary concern, whether we are in the private sector, national agencies, development organizations, civic organizations, ug uban pa, kamong tanan dako kaayo’g tabang sa atong lokal nga pangagamhanan sa Cagayan de Oro,” Raagas said, emphasizing the vital role of partnerships in addressing employment challenges.

PESO CDO gave out a total of 120 awards in their local recruitment activity, special recruitment activity, jobs fair career, and development support program, JobsStart, as well as to nongovernment organizations and national line agency partners.

PESO Manager Kathleen Kate Sorilla underscored the importance of unity and collaboration in driving the success of PESO’s programs. She acknowledged the tireless efforts of organizations and individuals who support employment facilitation, describing their contributions as transformative for countless lives.
“We celebrate more than five years of partnership. We honor friendship, trust, and shared purpose. Your organizations have been instrumental in changing lives and inspiring us to continue our mission.”
Sorilla said the 5th Parangal at Pasasalamat was both a celebration and a call for continued teamwork. With its partners’ support, PESO Cagayan de Oro aims to promote employment and build a brighter, more inclusive future for all. (RTP/PIA-10)
