QUEZON CITY, (PIA) – The Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) will soon have its permanent central office at the Navotas Fish Port Complex (NFPC).
On Monday, August 14, Navotas City Mayor John Rey Tiangco joined PFDA Acting General Manager Atty. Glen Pangapalan in the ceremonial groundbreaking and capsule-laying of the soon to rise 1000-square meter PFDA Central Office Building which will be established within the vicinity of the NFPC. The activity forms part of the PFDA 47th anniversary celebration.
“After 47 years, natutuwa tayo na ngayon ay may permanente na kayong tahanan dito sa Navotas City. Kapag nagtatayo tayo ng bagong opisina, gusto rin natin ng mas magandang serbisyo para sa ating mga mangangalakal at mas conducive sa pagtatrabaho ng ating mga empleyado (We are delighted that you will finally have your own home here in Navotas City after 47 years. When we are building a new office, we are also aiming to provide a better and conducive service for the employees in the industry),” said Mayor Tiangco during the ceremony.
“Hopefully matapos kaagad ang ating Central Office nang sa gayon ay maging mas maayos pa ang pagbibigay serbisyo ng ating mga kawani sa PFDA. Sana tuloy-tuloy ang ating aspiration at ating pagpupunyagi na lagi nating mabigyan ng tamang serbisyo ang mangingisdang Pilipino at ang mga konsyumer na Pilipino na umaasa sa PFDA (Hopefully the construction of our Central Office will be expedited to deliver a better service among the stakeholders of PFDA. I hope we can sustain our aspiration and dedication to serve all the Filipino fisherfolk and PFDA consumers),” General Manager Pangapalan stated.
Some of the key features of the building include an area for the concessionaires of PFDA and the visiting employees from Regional Fish Ports.
Meanwhile, the personnel of the PFDA-Central Office and NFPC also held a blessing of the Food Stall Facility that is located in the new NFPC Market 3 (Blue Market) and the recently constructed NFPC Fish Processing Facility beside the PFDA GAD (Gender and Development) Center.
