LEGAZPI CITY, ALBAY (PIA5/Albay)—The Provincial Government of Albay (PGA) and Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) turned over three (3) trucks to Albay Electric Cooperative Inc. (ALECO) on Monday, Jan. 9 to support their road and line clearing operations.
It endeavors to prevent unnecessary brownouts and increased system loss in the province which highly affect ALECO member-consumers.
Clearing operations will start at the Third district of Albay on Jan. 14 to 31.
National Electrification and Administration (NEA) Acting General Manager (AGM) Engr. Wilfredo Bucsit said that one of the factors of the system loss and brownouts in the province was the weedy areas that affect the power lines in the province.
‘’The power lines are running along thickly covered weedy areas so we must clear them to prevent system loss,’’ Engr. Bucsit stated.
‘’[The provided trucks] is a big help in clearing [operations], to remove leaves and cut [branches],’’Bucsit added.
Albay Gov. Edcel ‘Grex’ Lagman showed his appreciation to Engr. Bucsit who promised to improve the services of ALECO to Albayanos.
‘’Basically I want to thank AGM Bucsit for his request from PEO in their road clearing operations,’’Lagman cited.
Gov. Lagman had ordered PEO Engr. Dante Baclao to provide the services of two dump trucks and a boom truck to ALECO.
‘’Personnel from the Albay Provincial Engineering Office will provide manpower support and provide necessary assistance to the public,’’Engr. Baclao stated.
PGA and PEO expressed their commitment and guaranteed support to NEA and ALECO to sustain quality service of power supply to Albayanos.(PIA5/Albay)
