TUBOD, Lanao del Norte (PIA) — In commemoration of World AIDS Day 2024, the provincial government here, through its Provincial Health Office (PHO), held an infomercial-making contest and a photojournalism advocacy contest.
The event gathered high school students from eight participating schools across the province, emphasizing the importance of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) awareness and prevention.
The contests showcased the creativity and advocacy of the youth. In the infomercial-making contest, Lala National High School took first place, followed by Salvador National High School in second and Sultan Ali Dimaporo Memorial Integrated School in third.

Meanwhile, in the Photojournalism Advocacy Contest, Sultan Ali Dimaporo Memorial Integrated School secured first place, with Lanao del Norte National Comprehensive High School in second and Sultan Naga Dimaporo Memorial Integrated School in third.
Hasib Cayongcat, an 11th-grade student and campus journalist from SADMIS, praised the initiative.
“I’m very thankful to the provincial government of Lanao del Norte for organizing this event. Through this powerful activity, we’re not just uniting the students but also uniting them with a common purpose. This time, our purpose is to prevent and reduce the number of HIV cases in Lanao del Norte,” he said.
