PH Army cooperative turns over new school building to remote Ifugao school

LAGAWE, Ifugao (PIA) — The Kalanguya National High School (KNHS) in Barangay Wangwang, Tinoc, is blessed with a newly constructed two-storey, four-classroom building from the Philippine Army Finance Center Producers Integrated Cooperative (PAFCPIC) through its โ€œAdopt a School Program.โ€

The P16.6-million school building was formally turned over to KNHS during its inauguration on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 โ€“ led by PAFCPIC president (Ret.) Brigadier General Fernando S Zabat, Vice Governor Glenn Prudenciano for Gov. Jerry U Dalipog, Tinoc Mayor Samson C. Benito, Department of Education Cordillera Regional Director Estela L Cariรฑo, Ifugao Schools Division Superintendent Gloria Buya-ao, and LTC Delfin Rean B. Ante of the 54th Infantry Battalion.

Department of Education (DepEd) officials thanked the PAFCPIC for a project that has a potentially transformative impact on Kalanguya NHS students.

DepEd-Ifugao said that the newly constructed building symbolizes PAFCPIC’s commitment to improve the access of quality education, empower the youth and foster academic excellence even in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas.

โ€œThis state-of-the-art facility provides the students with a conducive learning environment addressing the need for additional classrooms,โ€ DepEd-Ifugao said.

During the inauguration, 240 PAFCPIC school bags were also distributed to learners and 50 gift packs of T-shirts, wall and tent calendars for teachers, guests and stakeholders.

The event was also attended by other local officials and the Parent-Teachers Association.
