PASIG CITY, (PIA) — The Bayanihan spirit lives on as troops from the Philippine Army and Australian Army joined hands to aid evacuees of Naga City after the onslaught of Tropical Storm Kristine.

Troops from the 9th Infantry “Spear” Division (9ID) and the contingent from the Australian Army worked hand-in-hand to provide food packs to evacuees affected by the recent massive flooding in the Bicol region.

According to the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Spear troopers and their Australian Army counterparts are training together for the “KASANGGA” 2024-2, the inaugural combined training exercise between Filipino and Australian ground forces in the Bicol Region.

The combined exercise is scheduled from October 14 to November 8, 2024. (JEG/PIA-NCR)
