PH Coast Guard ready for ‘Nika’ response

QUEZON CITY (PIA) — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has declared its readiness for quick response in face of the potential adverse impact of Typhoon Nika (Toraji).

PCG Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan, has earlier ordered the full mobilization of coast guard efforts for disaster response.

He also reminded all PCG personnel to remain vigilant and to carry out all assigned tasks promptly and efficiently.

Coast Guard District North Eastern Luzon (CGDNELZN) has already mobilized its personnel and resources to enhance community safety in the face of the weather disturbance.

“All units are on high alert to address potential emergencies, such as flooding and landslides, associated with the storm,” said District Commander, Commodore Gary Dale Gimotea.
