PH Space Agency invites public to ‘Cosmic Journeys’ in UP-Diliman

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) — The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) is excited to announce the opening ceremony of “Cosmic Journeys: Celebrating Philippines and Italy in Space,” a special event dedicated to showcasing the wonders of space science and technology applications.

Jointly organized by PhilSA, the Embassy of Italy in the Philippines, and the University of the Philippines National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development (UP NISMED), the ceremony will take place on April 23, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the UP NISMED Auditorium. Following the ceremony, attendees are invited to a telescope viewing at the NISMED Observatory until 9 p.m.

Set to grace the event, include: H.E. Davide Giglio, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Embassy of the Republic of Italy; Edgardo Carlo L. Vistan II, Chancellor, University of the Philippines Diliman; and Dr. Joel Joseph S. Marciano Jr., Director-General, Philippine Space Agency, who will be present to celebrate this momentous occasion with attendees.

Cosmic Journeys” will also include two special exhibits running from April 24 to May 2, 2025 (excluding weekends and holidays) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.:

  • From Moon to Mars: Italy in Space Exploration at the UP NISMED Auditorium
  • #YamangKalawakan: The Philippine Space Ecosystem at the UP NISMED Ground Floor Lobby

This collaborative effort aims to foster a shared curiosity about the cosmos and highlight the contributions of both countries to space exploration. All are encouraged to attend and explore the exciting world of space science. (JEG/PIA-NCR)
