PH to host inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup in 2025

MANILA (PIA) – The Philippines will host the first FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup in 2025, FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced over the weekend on his Instagram account. The tournament is set to take place from November 21 to December 7, 2025.

Infantino expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event, stating, “Ladies and gentlemen, I am delighted to announce that the dates for the inaugural FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup in the Philippines have been confirmed. Congratulations to the Philippines!” He noted that 16 teams from six continental confederations will compete for the championship title.

Several venues are being considered for the tournament, including the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila, SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, and Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) is also exploring other potential sites, such as a location in Iloilo and the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

The addition of the Futsal Women’s World Cup to FIFA’s global women’s competitions portfolio, which already includes the FIFA Women’s World Cup, FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, and FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, signifies a significant stride towards promoting women’s sports on a global scale.
