PhilHealth-9 commits to better healthcare system

IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay (PIA) – The recent Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas in Zamboanga Peninsula highlighted the significant milestones of PhilHealth Region 9, showcasing efforts to improve healthcare access in the region.

PhilHealth makes sure that their initiatives cater to the pressing medical needs of Filipinos, bolstering the healthcare system. These efforts aim to create a healthcare system capable of withstanding future health crises.

PhilHealth’s streamlined claims processing reduced the turnaround time to 19 days, faster than the mandated 60 days. This improvement has been acknowledged by private hospitals and local governments, resulting in quicker payments and improved patient care.

Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas highlights PhilHealth-9’s efforts to enhance benefits and client satisfaction.

PhilHealth-9 has disbursed a total of PhP443,057,575.00 with an average turnaround time of 25 days for good claims. This is 35 days faster than the mandated 60-day processing period.

PhilHealth prioritizes client needs, as evidenced by a recent Novo Trends PH survey showing a 94.57% satisfaction score from over 180,000 participants. This high rating highlights ongoing improvements in service and client experience.

PhilHealth-9 achieved an overall satisfaction rating of 99.10%, surpassing the national rating by 4.35%. This success is attributed in part to the valuable contributions of media partners in promoting PhilHealth’s services.

Dr. Jacobo Mendoza, head of the Benefit Administration Section of PhilHealth-9, emphasized that the corporation is committed to enhancing its benefits to better serve its members.

“Our benefits are constantly improving and we will continue to improve in the coming months and even in the years ahead,” Mendoza said.

PhilHealth-9 officials also shared other initiatives of the agency, highlighting their commitment to enhancing healthcare access including the expanded hemodialysis package and increased per-session coverage while also doubling coverage for high-burden conditions like stroke and pneumonia.

The outpatient benefit package now includes both general and specialized mental health services, and the Konsulta Program introduces new essential medications and increased funding for outpatient treatment.

PhilHealth-9’s enhancements in benefits, faster claims processing, and high satisfaction ratings underscore its commitment to improving healthcare in Zamboanga Peninsula, promising a more resilient healthcare system for the future. (EDT/RBI/PIA9-Zamboanga Sibugay)
