DAVAO CITY (PIA) — The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) continues to provide health care assistance to its members minimizing the impact of any funding challenges.
PhilHealth Regional Vice President lawyer Harvey L. Carcedo reassured the members and stakeholders that PhilHealth’s services will continue and even improve despite funding concerns.
“We would like to reassure everyone that, regardless of this issue, hindi po maaapektuhan ang programs ng PhilHealth.” Carcedo said.
(We would like to reassure everyone that, regardless of this issue, PhilHealth’s programs will not be affected.)
Carcedo acknowledges the issues surrounding PhilHealth’s budget, particularly the PHP 90 billion fund transfer and the zero subsidy concerns, but firmly states that these will not affect the programs and benefits for members.
Instead, Atty. Carcedo highlights that PhilHealth is financially stable, as seen in the recent premium increase, and that services are even being expanded to better serve its members. (REC / PIA XI)
