Since September 2024, PhilHealth has introduced 13 new and enhanced benefit packages, including a 144 percent increase in coverage for Hemodialysis, now at P6,350 for 156 sessions annually. For Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (severe), coverage has increased by 194 percent.

The Konsulta benefit package was also enhanced to include coverage for outpatient anti-tuberculosis (TB DOTS), malaria, HIV/AIDS (OHAT), and animal bites.
Misamis Occidental has 24 accredited hospitals and ambulatory clinics, 64 accredited outpatient facilities, and 31 Konsulta facilities. Two municipalities, Panaon and Concepcion, are still in the process of accrediting Konsulta facilities with PhilHealth.
“Tulungan niyo kami,na yong magandang benepisyo naman na balita, about sa benefits at mga polisiya ng Philhealth ang atin ipaalam sa atong kababayan, lalo na dito sa Misamis Occidental,” Delio A. Aseron II, PhilHealth-10 Regional Vice President, told Misamis Occidental media.
(Help us by spreading the good news about the benefits and policies of PhilHealth to our fellow countrymen, especially here in Misamis Occidental.)
Aseron said PhilHealth is intensifying its information campaign about PhilHealth benefits and the Universal Health Care program by traveling to local health insurance centers in various provinces.
PhilHealth also continues to strengthen partnerships with both private and government hospitals to improve member awareness and access to services.
In January, PhilHealth reduced the average claims processing time to 19 days, ensuring faster payments and continued patient access to care.
From December 27, 2024, to January 25, 2025, PhilHealth paid hospitals P20.1 billion, a 38 percent increase from the previous year.
Aseron expressed hope that these campaigns will raise awareness among beneficiaries, including senior citizens and marginalized sectors, about their lifetime membership and benefits.
“PhilHealth is here to stay and will continue to deliver services,” he added. (JMOR/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
