SAN JOSE, Antique (PIA) — In celebration of Women’s Month 2025, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) is reinforcing its commitment to women’s health by expanding its benefit packages to cover life-saving cancer treatments, essential maternal services and preventive screenings.
With a strong focus on early detection, quality medical care and financial relief, PhilHealth assures more Filipinas have access to the healthcare they deserve—without the heavy burden of medical costs.
Local Chief Health Insurance Officer Junie Sausap said PhilHealth now covers up to P1.4 million for breast cancer treatment (Stages 0-IV) and up to P175,000 for cervical cancer treatment, offering critical financial relief for patients battling these diseases.
For expectant mothers, the expanded maternity care packages cover up to P37,050 for C-sections, P23,634 for breech extractions and up to P15,600 for prenatal and delivery services, ensuring safer childbirth and postpartum recovery.
A major addition to PhilHealth’s KonSulta Program is the inclusion of mammograms and ultrasounds, making preventive screenings more accessible to Filipino women.
This initiative strengthens early detection efforts for breast and reproductive health issues, potentially saving more lives.
With these expanded benefits, PhilHealth reaffirms its commitment to universal, affordable and accessible healthcare.
By prioritizing early detection, treatment and maternal care, the agency ensures every Filipina receives the medical attention she deserves—without the financial strain.
In Antique province, there are nine government hospitals, 18 rural health units, also called primary health care service providers, and three private hospitals accredited by PhilHealth. (AGP/PSM/PIA-Antique with reports from CLA/PhilHealth)
