PhilHealth embraces digitalization to enhance member services, streamline claim processing

CAGAYAN DE OR CITY (PIA) — The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) embraces digital transformation efforts, aligning with President Marcos Jr.’s directive to improve public service delivery through technology.

PhilHealth-10 Regional Vice President (RVP) Delio Aseron II shared during the Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas on September 10,  that PhilHealth is among the first government agencies to adopt the eGovPHapp launched by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). This user-friendly app empowers members to conveniently manage their PhilHealth membership from their smartphones.

“Members can easily access their membership profile, view their contribution payments, and check their availment history through the said app. Sa eGOVphSuper App ay pwede na ring pumili at magrehistro sa Konsulta (they can also choose and register to Konsulta),” he said.

Aseron also highlighted PhilHealth’s recent partnership with a global IT solutions provider to test artificial intelligence (AI)-powered software that aims to enhance the claims reimbursement process.

“This initiative aims to reduce claims processing time and minimize claims being returned to hospitals due to deficiencies.  We are excited to see how this technology will revolutionize our claims processes,” he added.

PhilHealth likewise understands the importance of clear and accessible communication with its members and partners. As such, the agency offers a variety of channels to ensure everyone can easily connect and get the support they need.

Aseron said PhilHealth offers a convenient “Click to Call” feature directly on its website, www.philhealth.gov.ph. Members can simply access the website from their internet-connected computer or smartphone and click the icon located at the bottom-right corner to be connected with a live agent. This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, providing immediate assistance at members’ fingertips.

For those who prefer phone calls, PhilHealth maintains a dedicated hotline at 8662-2588, which is available to answer questions and address any concerns during hotline operating hours.

During the pandemic, PhilHealth launched a popular call-back service, allowing members to request a callback at their convenience. Aseron confirmed that this service is still available. Simply text “PHICallback <space> Mobile Number to be called <space> Details of concern” to any of the following mobile numbers: 0998-857-2957, 0968-865-4670, 0917-127-5987, or 0917-110-987.

“PhilHealth’s doors are always open to all of our partners and our members. You may connect with us through these communication channels for any inquiries or concerns,” Aseron said. (APB/PIA-10)
