MANILA, (PIA) — The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation’s National Capital Region North Branch will hold a PhilHealth Konsulta Expo at Robinsons Manila’s Midtown Atrium on Friday, offering health services and information to about 300 beneficiaries.
“This initiative provides another avenue for members to learn about their PhilHealth Konsulta benefits and personally experience the services in collaboration with nearby Konsulta Package Providers,” said Dr. Bernadette C. Lico, Vice-President PRO National Capital Region and Rizal.
The half-day expo is a collaboration between PhilHealth’s PRO NCR Office of the Vice President, Manila Health Department and Robinsons Malls.
First launched in 2024 as a marketing strategy, the Konsulta Expo brings primary care services to high-traffic venues to promote PhilHealth’s benefits. Previous expos were held in SM Sangandaan in Caloocan, SM Valenzuela City, Intramuros and Mandaluyong City Hall.
Services at Friday’s expo will include member registration, data record and ID card issuance, health screenings and assessments.
Medical professionals from Rosario Reyes Health Center and Manila Health Department will perform blood pressure checks, laboratory tests, consultations, and vaccine administration for senior citizens.
According to PhilHealth data, Manila has 64 accredited Konsulta Package Providers serving the city’s 1.96 million population. These include five private clinics, six government facilities, and 43 local government health centers.
Records show 505,849 Manila residents are registered with Konsulta providers, representing 24% of the city’s PhilHealth members. Since 2023, the program has released over 242 million pesos in capitation funds and paid for 347,969 consultations.
The expo aims to increase awareness and utilization of PhilHealth’s primary care benefits in one of Metro Manila’s busiest commercial districts. (JCO/PIA-NCR)
