PhilHealth Occidental Mindoro to conduct extensive ‘KonSulTa’ program registration this year

SAN JOSE, Occidental Mindoro (PIA) – PhilHealth Occidental Mindoro will conduct an extensive registration activity for the Konsultang Sulit at Tama or KonSulTa program to extend its benefits to more people in the province.

As of June 2024, one-third of the population in Occidental Mindoro, equivalent to 179,256, have already registered in the Konsulta Program.

Chief Social Insurance Officer Concepcion M. Arteza of PhilHealth Occidental Mindoro said their team aims to reach unregistered individuals this year, in partnership with different government agencies and local government units.

“Ang PhilHealth LIO Occidental Mindoro will see to it na magkakaroon po tayo ng ganitong gawain hanggang hindi po natin nari-reach po kung hindi man po yung 100 percent ng population ay mairehistro sa konsulta, kahit 90 percent of that ay mairehistro po natin,” Arteza explained.

(The PhilHealth LIO Occidental Mindoro will see that this activity will continue until we register 100 percent or at least 90 percent of the population to the Konsulta program.)

During the 16th episode of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas, Atty. Jerry Ibay, PhilHealth Regional Vice President for MIMAROPA explained that the KonSulTa Program aims to protect the health of Filipinos and prevent diseases by providing free consultations from accredited KonSulTa providers.

“I believe that the Konsulta program is a game changer. Prior to the Konsulta [program], ang binabayaran lang po [ng PhilHealth] ay ‘yong nao-ospital. Sa KonSulTa [program] po, ang binabayaran po namin ‘yong check-ups,” Ibay explained.

(I believe that the KonSulTa Program is a game changer. Before the KonSulTa program, PhilHealth only covered hospital bills. Under the KonSulTa program, check-ups are also covered.)

The following are the laboratory or diagnostic examinations covered by the program: complete blood count (CBC) with platelet count, lipid profile, fasting blood sugar (FBS), oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT), glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), creatinine, chest x-rays, sputum microscopy, electrocardiogram (ECG), mammogram, ultrasound (upper abdomen, pelvic, and breast), urinalysis, pap smear, fecalysis, and fecal occult blood test.

Selected prescription drugs and medicines are also provided, such as antimicrobial, anti-diabetic, anti-hypertensives, and antihistamines.

Registration for the KonSulTa program may be done through self-registration at any PhilHealth Local Insurance Office or via PhilHealth website: www.philhealth.gov.ph. (DSG/PIA MIMAROPA – Occidental Mindoro)
